Shaye and Jay's Gorgeous Wedding cake

Shaye and Jay were a pleasure to deal with.  They had a good idea of what they wanted and were happy to take suggestions from me to help modernise a picture of cake that they seen that they liked.
They were married on 5th August 2012.

The cake is a white chocolate mud cake top tier and a cherry ripe mud cake base tier and was served as dessert. The calla lilies are hand made from sugar and decorated with ribbon and some beads to add dimension.

The love heart topper was supplied by Shaye and Jay and matched in with the diamanté ribbon just perfect. The reception was held at the Palmwoods Hotel

The base tier was stencilled with a gorgeous floral pattern using royal icing.

I got this amazing message from Shaye on Sunday.

A MASSIVE thank you to you for making the most perfect cake EVER for our wedding day! It was delicious.. Stunning.. Made with so much love.. And we definately did not want to cut it!! You made our "cake expidition" such a breeze! loveliest person to deal with, so helpful and had all the time in the world for us.. But the littlest thing made the biggest impact -- you remembered our names when you approached us in public!!

We will more then recommend you!!! And we will be back for more of your sweet goodness! Thank you so very much ♥ Shaye Lindsay

Beware of the Darkside

Star Wars was the theme of the party and Darth Vadar was centre of attention.

Our Boys turned three and five and my husband requested a Darth Vadar head cake made from white chocolate mud cake that bled when we cut it. Yes you read right... He said bled!

I was somewhat horrified but went on and did my best to fulfil his request.

This is what I came up with.

And when we cut it I was concerned that we may cause some 3 and 5 year old's nightmares, There was lots of oohhs and ahhs from the kids and it caused quite a laugh amongst the adults.

I did some bright coloured cupcakes with W and L's on them to brighten the dark mood!

I also made some shortbread biscuits with the same design as the cupcakes

Overall it was quite a success.

Mindy and John's Blue Ruffle

I was so excited when Mindy said that she had fallen in love with the yellow version of this cake and asked me to do it in blue.

What really appealed to Mindy was the texture of this cake. The top two tiers are white chocolate mud cake covered in white chocolate ganache made with Lindt chocolate. The bottom tier is chocolate mud cake and covered in delicious chocolate ganache. It is then covered with strips of sugar paste icing.

Mindy and John's reception was held at the Sunshine Beach venue of Coconut Grove.

Happy BIrthday Ree

My darling friend Maree who takes most of my photos and helps me out at the Expo's had a birthday so I suprised her with a cake.

The cake is white chocolate with a raspberry swirl and white chocolate ganache.

It was perfect to put her on the cake with her camera.

She was very happy with her surprise cake :)

Red Ruffle Love

This is one of my latest designs, the Red Ruffle cake. I love its simplicity yet the fabulous impact the red and white creates. I have lots of photos to add because I cant leave any of them out. Gorgeous pictures from Maree at MD Photography. This cake was made for the display at the recent Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase at Twin Waters Novotel.

Pink and Black with a little Bling!

This is a cake created for the Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase June 2012.

Two tier square with a gorgeous diamante clasp and ribbon for the base.

Bride and groom hand made from Sugar Paste.

Jess and Wade's White Wedding cake

Jess and Wade chose this gorgeous design which credit must be given to Cake That for the design. The top two tiers are fruit cake and the bottom tier is chocolate mud cake. At the venue edible coloured diamantés were scattered onto the board. I will post photos from the professional photographer when I can get some.

The wedding reception was held at Lily's at Novotel Twin Waters

The cake has been wrapped with sugar paste ribbons and finished with a sugar paste bow.

Jess requested her and Wades initials stencilled onto the board with a pearl spray so that it is just slightly noticeable. It looked really gorgeous.
